Ryszard Rogala represents a watercolor painting done mostly outdoors. A plein-air scene makes it possible to capture such fleeting things as a moment in space, the feeling and atmosphere of the place.
His subjects are architecture and landscape, though he also does figurative painting (humans) and portraits from life.
He paints alla prima, which gives his works an air of uniqueness.
On the other hand, his indoor painting is a more impressionistic, sometimes quite unreal, interpretation of watercolor sketches.
